Explore Fernie with our Local Guide

Unique to Canadian Powder Tours guests, the owner Susan Mould, a Fernie local, whose terrain knowledge is second-to-none, is crazy about guiding guests to the best powder, steeps and hidden corners on the mountain.

Expert Guiding

Equipped with over 20 years of experience and knowledge of guiding at Fernie Alpine Resort, Susan guarantees an epic adventure and heightened adrenaline levels!

The guiding is one of the main reasons we see 70% of our guests return year after year. Many areas may go undiscovered by the majority of visitors to the resort. Knowledge of slope aspects, snow loading, secret glades really heightens the quality of the overall experience. Being led to these spots is a huge perk and gives guests more confidence to explore and push themselves that bit further.

Our guiding is aimed towards an upper intermediate/advanced level of skier/rider and is a complimentary service for our guests. Susan can offer professional advise on gear & has a supplier for all the guests. The resort offers a hosting service on blue and green runs, which is great for those less confident. This allows groups, families and couples to split up for the morning while still meeting up for lunch and always having ski companions.

Dearest Sue, You are the dominatrix of the slopes. I thought I came for downhill skiing, why do I always seem to be climbing upwards for powder after you! Yet another fabulous holiday, 9th one with you. Skiing was great, however you entice me to ski runs which are unsuitable for my advancing age! Many thanks.
